SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Lloyd is an international human rights lawyer with 15 years of experience working with leading companies, governments, multilateral agencies, indigenous communities, and civil society organizations. He has developed a niche in the field of human rights impact assessment with a focus on assisting companies in the extractive sector identify and address opportunities and risks associated with human rights, anti-corruption, and corporate social responsibility. He has worked on human rights impact assessments of business operations and free trade agreements in Canada, the United States, Colombia, Guatemala, Peru, Argentina, the Philippines, the Democratic Republic of Congo, China and Vanuatu.
Lloyd co-authored the Marlin Mine Human Rights Assessment and was the lead author of the Mining Association of Canada-commissioned Recommendations of the National Roundtables on Corporate Social Responsibility and the Canadian Extractive Industry in Developing Countries.
Lloyd received his BA in philosophy and politics from Queen’s University and his law degree from McGill University and is a member in good standing of the Law Society of Upper Canada (Bar of Ontario).
